Christopher Alessandro, of Croton-on-Hudson, has been sentenced to time served of 324 days and five years probation, which will be transferred to Putnam County, where he plans to live upon his release. He must also forfeit his computer, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony ScarpinoJr., announced.
Alessandro will have a Sex Offender Registration Act hearing on May 7. He was released on his own recognizance, but is currently being held at the Westchester County Jail as he awaits extradition to Virginia on a different charge.
On May 7 last year, New York State Police, in conjunction with the Virginia State Police and Westchester County District Attorney’s Office High Technology Crime Bureau, arrested Alessandro in Cortlandt. The arrest came after the Virginia State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Unit contacted the New York State Police Cortlandt barracks regarding an unknown male in New York sending indecent material to a Special Agent posing as a 14-year-old girl.
A monthlong investigation in Cortlandt led investigators to Alessandro, who was arrested. He pleaded guilty on Feb. 7 to attempted disseminating indecent material to minors and attempted criminal possession of a firearm.
